I am always on the look-out for ways to save money while unemployed (even when I have a job I am a bargain hunter) – KMart has an unemployed assistance program – go to their website here – sign up and get their card for 20% off their brand name products – (regular prices).  You need to bring proof each time that you are still unemployed – I bring a copy of my unemployment deposit into my account.  Your card is valid for 6 months.

PS – sign up on a Sunday/Monday because the $5 off coupon they give you expires that Saturday – so when I signed up I only had one day to use the coupon.  The coupons are valid Sun – Saturday.
